BUILDING YOUR eEDGE WEBSITE:

It is recommended, but not required, that you use the Firefox web browser to edit your eEdge website. When you are editing your website, it is also recommended that you keep one tab open with your eEdge website administration pages open in it, and another tab with your actual eEdge website open. That way, when you make a change in the admin tab, you can switch to your website tab, click Refresh (or press F5), and see your changes appear.

STEP 1 Review and Correct Office Info

Review your office information on this page. This information was set when you activated your eEdge account. This is PUBLIC information that will be shown on your About page. Do not use your personal information here. Make sure this information is the office's info.

BONUS TIP! Add the Listing Office ID

The instructions below will allow ALL of the office's listings to be shown on your Home page in the Featured Listing focus box, and on your Featured Listings page. This will make it appear that you always have a listing, however, if you DO have your OWN listing, it will be mixed in with all other office listings, and your own listing will NOT necessarily appear on your Home Page (another's agent's listing may appear on your Home page instead).

myKW Home Page ► myMarketing [+] Button ► Manage eEdge Website ► My Account Tab ► MLS Administration ► Edit (Icon)

To add all office listings to your Featured Listings...

  2. Enter KKWS02 in the Listing Office ID field.

You must be approved for California Regional MLS listings from STEP 4 Add California Regional MLS to Your Site before this will work.

TECH TIP

Showing Your Listins vs. the Office's Listings

You may want to ENABLE the Office ID when you DO NOT have a listing, then DISABLE it when you DO have a listing (in order to show your own listing on your Home Page).

TECH TIP

Create Property Flyers for Any Agent's Listing

Enabling the Office Listing ID will also allow you to create property flyers automatically for ANY listing belonging to members of our office. This is great if you are showing an open house for another agent, and want to create a property flyer for their listing.

STEP 5 Show Your Featured Listings

The information entered in this page allows your eEdge site to receive MLS listings. If this page only shows KWLS Approved, or DOES NOT show California Regional Approved, then follow the instructions below.

myKW Home Page ► myMarketing [+] Button ► Manage eEdge Website ► My Account Tab ► Settings ► Agent MLS ID

To add MLS ID's to feature your or another agent's listings...

  1. Click the red Add Agent MLS ID button.
  2. Make sure California Regional is selected.
You will need to be approved for California Regional MLS first.
    See
STEP 4 Add California Regional MLS to Your Site.
  3. Enter your MLS ID in the Agent MLS ID field.
DO NOT enter the Listing Office ID here. It should only be entered in MLS Administration.
  4. Click the red Save button.

TECH TIP

Create Property Flyers for Your Partner Agent's Listings

Entering an additional agent's MLS ID here will allow you to create property flyers automatically for any listing belonging to that agent (similar to entering the Listing Office ID, except this shows ONLY your partner agent's listings; not the entire office's). This is great if you are showing an open house for the agent, and want to create a property flyer for the listing. Ask permission from the agent, first!

STEP 6 Enable Expanded Search Criteria

By default, your eEdge site does not have many search criteria available for clients to narrow their search. YOu will want to enable as many criteria as possible in order to give your clients more search options. The only ones you may not want to enable are areas you are not comfortable with (e.g., commercial, auctions, time shares, etc.).

myKW Home Page ► myMarketing [+] Button ► Manage eEdge Website ► Website Tab ► Listing Search Fields

To enable additional search criteria...

  1. Click the check boxes next to the search criteria you want to enable.
  2. Click the red Save button.

STEP 7 Customize Logo & Banner Images

The Site Banner is the large photo in the middle of your Home page. The Agency Logo appears in the upper-left corner of your website.

myKW Home Page ► myMarketing [+] Button ► Manage eEdge Website ► Website Tab ► Site Images

To enable additional search criteria...

  1. Click the check boxes next to the search criteria you want to enable.
  2. Click the red Save button.

  3. Click Search.
  4. Click to select a photo appropriate for Southern California.
  5. Click Save.

You may upload your own image if you want. The image must be a JPEG or PNG file, with dimensions exactly 354 pixels wide by 285 pixels high, and less than 500 KB file size.

  1. Click the red Edit button under Agency Logo.
  2. Scroll through the available logos, and click the one you like.
  3. Click the red Save button.

Clicking the logo in the upper-left corner of your public eEdge page will always take you back to your site's Home page.

STEP 8 Upload Your Photos and Logo

The photo you upload to Website Image will appear across your eEdge website. The photo you upload to Marketing Image will appear on your marketing material (property flyers, postcards, 33 Touch and 8x8 marketing campaigns, etc.). There can be different photos of you, or the same photo. The image you upload to Marketing Logo will appear on all of your marketing materials along with your Marketing Image (photo).

myKW Home Page ► myMarketing [+] Button ► Manage eEdge Website ► My Account Tab ► Settings ► Images

To upload/change your Website Image, Marketing Image, and Marketing Logo...

  1. Click the red Edit button under one category.
  2. Click the red Browse button.
  3. Browse your computer for the image you want to upload.
  4. Click Open or OK, and your image will upload.
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for each image category.

If you receive an error that your image could not be uploaded, review the guidelines for image requirements when you click the red Edit button. The Website Image must be a JPEG file (preferably with a 1:1.3 aspect ratio), and can be low resolution since it will only appear on monitors. The Marketing Image, and Marketing Logo should be high-resolution JPEG or PNG files (up to 2800 pixels wide) since these images can appear on printed material. In short, most images will work as long as they are JPEGs under 8 MB and not incredibly high-resolution.

STEP 9 Add Social Media Links

Adding social media links here will add buttons that link to your social media profiles on your About Page.

myKW Home Page ► myMarketing [+] Button ► Manage eEdge Website ► My Account Tab ► Settings ► Social Media

To add social media links to your About Page...

  1. Click the red Add Social Media button..
  2. Click the drop-down box under URL Type.
  3. Select the type of social media link you are adding (Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, etc.).

The image to the right will show what the Facebook URL looks like.
  5. Click the red Save button.

TECH TIP

Facebook and LinkedIn Vanity URLs (Usernames)

You will want to edit your Facebook Vanity URL and LinkedIn public profile URL for easier-to-remember URLs to those profiles. You can edit your Facebook vanity URL (username) at facebook.com/username

STEP 10 Customize Page Titles & Descriptions

Page Titles count towards a small portion or Google SEO, so they should be carefully worded. Page descriptions DO NOT count towards Google SEO, but they do appear in search results, and clients will see them, so they DO matter. Below, you will find recommended page titles and descriptions that you can copy and paste into your page. You're more than welcome to change the wording of there (and you probably should), but consider the following guidelines...

myKW Home Page ► myMarketing [+] Button ► Manage eEdge Website ► Website Tab ► Titles & Descriptions

  • Page titles count towards your Google SEO. Use phrases that people would actually search for. For example, your Find a Home page (where clients search for homes), should include something like Search for Homes in Corona, CA, or Corona, CA Homes for Sale.
  • Put the most important phrase that describes the page first. If you're editing the page title for your About Us page, make sure the About YOUR NAME appears first, then you can add additional info after it.
  • Keep page titles (and descriptions, to a lesser degree) short. Page titles should only be about 10 to 15 words. Page descriptions can (and should) be longer, but not too long. Google cuts off the page titles after about 8 to 10 words. It cuts off page descriptions after 2 lines (or about 2, brief sentences). This coincides with the previous guideline: put your most important info first (before Google cuts it off).
  • Additional, less important info should come last, and should be repeated throughout your page titles. For example, you may want to put Corona Homes & Real Estate in each of your page titles for extra Google SEO, but put this second, after the more descriptive phrase for that page. Finally, you may want to repeat Keller Williams Realty Corona in your page titles, but this is least important, so it should come last.
  • Put your contact information in EVERY ONE of your page descriptions. Briefly describe the purpose of the page in the first sentence, them immediately follow that sentence with your phone number and email address (and hope Google doesn't cut it off). This will show in the Google search results before a client even clicks the link to your page!
  • Don't spam page descriptions. Your page description should describe your page. Don't fill it with a mishmash of keywords in hopes of scoring extra Google SEO. It won't work, and it will make you look spammy.
